Proceedings of the Second Annual State Viticultural Convention. Crabb is ill and unable to attend the first day of the convention, but he is referenced by other attendees in the proceedings. Mr. Wetmore talks about Crabb's experimentation with Almeria grapes, saying that "he, probably, has more varieties in one place than anybody else in the state." A paper that Crabb prepared titled "On Selection, Planting, Cultivation and Maintenance of Vineyards" was read by the Secretary in his absence. This discusses the varieties that Crabb plants, his grafting methods, and the importance of planting trees around vineyards for temperature control.
