Report of the Committee on White Wines of the Napa Convention prepared by Prof. Husmann [sic]. Considers 46 samples using a scale with a maximum of 10. Crabb's sauvignon blanc (1882) came in second place in the Sauvignon Blanc category with a score of 9; his Flame Tokay (1881) came in first place in that category by default with a score of 5, but judges noted that it was "a very nice wine for that variety"; his Pedro Ximines (1882) also came in first place by default in its category, with a score of 7; his seedless sultana (1882) again came in first place by default in its category with a score of 8 ("a very promising wine, delicate Sherry flavor"); his Cadillac (1882) was in first place by default in its category with a score of 5; and his Elvira (1881) was in first place by default in its category with a score of 6, described as "good, sound wine, rather too marked in character."
